BLANKET MAKERS

  • The Blanketmakers meet the fourth Monday and Tuesday of each month from 9-11 am. The blankets are sent to Lutheran World Relief usually during the month of November each year. One hundred were mailed in November 2007. They are also given to members of our church family who are in need. As of March 2008, we have completed 14 blankets. We use material that has been donated. Loft batting and some sheets are bought using our blanket-making fund. Everyone is welcome to join us for monthly work sessions. If you choose to work from home, contact the church office. Your help will be greatly appreciated as we send this love and warmth to people in need.

COMMUNITY WORSHIP SERVICES

  • As an integral part of the Downtown Albemarle Ministerial Association, First Lutheran Church is involved annually with worship services shared with the other downtown Albemarle churches. Each year, Advent Worship Services and Lenten Worship Services are held on Wednesdays during those Seasons of the Church Year. In addition, we participate in a community Thanksgiving Service, the National Day of Prayer Service and the annual baccalaureate service for the Stanly County Schools. All of these worship services are promoted in the bulletin, newsletter and phone trees. We invite your participation in these worship opportunities throughout the year.
